We would like to present this magazine as an extension to our Diwali event. IAB Diwali brings the traditions, aesthetics and grandeur of unique and diverse Indian sub-cultures and celebrates the joyous festival of lights. People visit the commons to partake in the festivities - enjoy the melodious Indian music and energetic, graceful and colorful dance performances. Boutique vendors and local organizations display their stalls. Our community’s young entrepreneurs and young volunteers actively participate to make this event a grand success! As the world stands today, it needs HEALING. And we humans play a huge role in that healing. The significance of Indian Culture is making LIFE a Celebration. The feeling of TOGETHERNESS brings people together to celebrate in ONENESS –and that is exactly what we strived to achieve with IAB’s branded Diwali festivity in the year 2021, a well thought of, and carefully executed in-person event at our very own Burlington Commons - the IAB Diwali Extravaganza of 2021 - “IAB Diwali – Healing for Humanity”. IAB Open House
On April 2nd IAB had a open house in Burlington Public Library. It was a successful event. We made few new membership during the event. IAB secretary Menka Jethra addressed the group with all the successful events IAB did in 2015 and also gave the list of events IAB will be conducting in 2016. IAB's next support will be in the Burlington Health Expo event and following that we will be participating in the Burlington scholarship program. we would like to continue this open house as a on-going bases , so our members and supporters can share their thoughts and ideas to take this organization to the next level. IAB would like to thank all the people who could attend this open house. |

IAB meet with Amy Warfield
It was great opportunity to meet with Amy Warfield, Burlington Town clerk. The meeting was held at Burlington Library on Feb 11th. Amy shared great information about our town’s process and procedure for legislative and Executive branches, and how IAB can participate in the town elections.
This is the beginning of forming a good working relationship with IAB and the staff of Burlington Town members. We ae looking forward to work closely with our town and be an active participants.
Like our IAB president mentioned, we have couple of IAB members who are interested in participating the elections, so let’s get together to support them.

IAB invited to Board of Selectmen meeting
Representatives from Indian American for Burlington (IAB) were invited to introduce the organization at a Board of Selectmen meeting held at the town hall in Burlington, Ma on January 11, 2016.
The speakers from IAB was Ram Voruganti, Indra Deb and Menka Jethra. The meeting was also attended by the following members of IAB - Jaya Voruganti, Praful Thakkar, Satyaprasad, Shital Bhammar, and Tinkham Matai.
Ram introduced the organization and articulated its mission, it's accomplishments in 2015 and the proposed activities for 2016. The selectmen encouraged the group. They are willing to spread the word that IAB exists in Burlington. They asked IAB to contact BCAT reporters, who were present in the meeting, to broad cast IAB as a news event.

Participating in this meeting is the second in a series of events that IAB is planning to hold to bring awareness about the organization within the Town of Burlington and in the Indian community. The first event was the Holiday social event and dinner held on Dec 5th 2015. The special guests at that event were Mike Runyan (Chairman, Board of Selectmen) and John Petrin (Town Administrator for the Town of Burlington, MA.) .
We urge all Indians associated with the town of Burlington to join IAB and help us make progress in increasing our social, charitable and civic participation in the town.
Following the Board of Selectmen meeting, IAB was also invited to join John Petrin for a round table on January 15, 2016. At the round table Ram Voruganti, Indra Deb, Jaya Voruganti, Praful Thakkar, and Satyaprasad met with Eric Conti, Superintendent of Schools, Michael Kent (Chief of Police) and discussed how IAB and the community can work closely to create Alumuni Day at Burlington High School and create awareness and harmony among all diverse population of Burlington as well as involving IAB in council of aging activities.
After the round table, Ram Voruganti was interviewed by BCAT which was broadcasted during 6pm new on Jan 15th.
